Features of the Saving Account

  • Using the Saving Account, you can carry out all transactions that can be made using a demand deposit account, such as money transfers, bill payments and regular payments.
  • When opening the account, you can set a minimum limit, provided that this is not below the minimum limit specified by the bank.
  • The portion of the balance of your account that is above the minimum limit you have set cannot be used between 22:30 and 05:00 hours, every night.  Within this interval, your balance is transferred to a time deposit account, and daily interest accrues on it. You can use the portion of the balance of your account that is below the minimum limit you have set, at any time as you wish. 
  • The minimum limit specified by the bank is minimum TRY 5,000 and EUR/USD 3,000 for retail accounts.
  • You can change the minimum limit of your Saving Account at any time, at your branch, the Call Center, or the Internet Branch.
  • Interest rate that will be applied to the account will be specified in the bank’s discretion, considering the prevailing interest rates at the account opening date, the currency of the account, and the amount of the balance of your linked time deposit account.  Interest accrues daily; therefore the rate can be changed by the bank.
  • Following the introductory interest rate period of the Saving Account, you can benefit from favorable interest rates until the 150th day following the account opening date. Throughout the term of the campaign, the bank can change the interest rates, and the corresponding terms.

Introductory Interest Rate for the Saving Account

  • Introductory interest rates are favorable rates, which you can benefit for your first Saving Account opened in TRY currency for once.
  • Introductory interest rate will apply for the days on which you have a balance up to TRY 750,000, excluding the minimum limit. Where your balance exceeds this amount, you earn interest by the current standard Saving Account interest rate.
  • Introductory interest rate is the applicable rate on the date your account is opened.
  • Introductory interest rate will be applied for a period of 45 days, beginning with the account opening date.

There are no prerequisites to open a Saving Account. However, in order to earn interest from the Saving Account, you have to maintain an account balance above the minimum limit.

Can I define one of my existing accounts as a Saving Account?

Yes, you can define your existing demand deposit accounts as Saving Account. However, the following accounts cannot be defined as Saving Account: Salary Accounts, Daily Yield Accounts, and regular repo transaction accounts.

After 22:30 hours, when the amount exceeding the minimum limit is transferred to the time deposit account, can I use those funds if I need cash?

After the amount exceeding the minimum limit is transferred to the time deposit account, those funds cannot be used between 22:30 and 05:00 hours. Between these hours, money inflows and outflows are disabled for the time deposit account. You can freely use the funds that remain in your demand deposit account.
